The SEPL Foundation is a dedicated group of volunteers who believe in the power of the public library to enrich lives and strengthen the community. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Foundation raises funds to support free programs, resources, and services offered by the Seneca East Public Library.
Through fundraising efforts and community involvement, the Foundation helps ensure that the library remains a vital, welcoming resource for everyone in the library's service area.

Jett & Lillian Mohr Service Award
The SEPL Foundation established the Jett & Lillian Mohr Service Award in 2014 to honor individuals or groups who have significantly supported the Seneca East Public Library or the SEPL Foundation.
About the Award
This award is named in memory of two of the most influential figures in the founding of the Attica Public Library, now known as the Seneca East Public Library.
The Reverend Jett Mohr became the first official librarian around 1934 and served until 1972, when he retired and was named Honorary Librarian. Revered as the “Father of the Public Library,” Rev. Mohr passed away in 1974.
His wife, Mrs. Lillian Mohr, began Story Hour in 1936 when the State Library of Ohio officially recognized the Attica Public Library. She passed away in 1954. Their legacy lives on through this award, which celebrates their foundational role in establishing a vibrant public library in the community.
Purpose
The award is presented annually at the Foundation’s Reverse Raffle & Auction. It is intended to express the library's deep appreciation to individuals or groups who have made meaningful, lasting contributions to the success of SEPL or the Foundation.
